Baz Corden is a songwriter who creates his distinctive style using an inventive melding of musical genres. His gentle mix of jazz, folk, country and rock is coupled with eccentric lyrics, which allows each song to create a unique introspective experience for listeners.
Baz is an eclectic artist who draws on diverse inspirations for his acoustic piloted songs. The music travels through the real and surreal. Songs are thoughtful and at times comical, but mostly they elevate a sense of charm and optimism.
Baz has played, toured and recorded with some of South Africa’s top musicians – Guy Buttery, Nibs van der Spuy, David Birch (Squeal), Perez, Albert Frost, Arno Carstens, Gareth Gale, Aidan Cornhill, Farryl Purkiss, Chris Letcher, Super Hot Joy, Josie Field and Laurie Levine

Baz has also played with international artist Bob Evans and worked with international producer Bjorn Thorsrud (Monster Magnet, Smashing Pumpkins).
Baz wrote and produced material for the surfing documentary ‘Gotcha Experiencia’, which was aired on Mnet.
Past projects have aired on national, campus and regional radio stations. His band Pistolfish was playlisted on college stations in the states and songs ‘Trickster Tongue’ and ‘Tide’ appeared on the Fanta World Chart Show. The Ketamine song ‘In the shape of a heart’ was play listed in Canada and Europe.
Songs from the debut album ‘You Are Here’ have been chosen for a National Geographic sponsored documentary directed by Australian film maker Beau Miles.
Baz has toured locally as well as in Mozambique and Swaziland. After a successful trip to the UK in 2007, he looks forward to more international tours to Australia, UK and Europe in 2008.
