Myepic have been gigging and building their profile with vigour over the past few years. Staples on every major festival stage across the country, Myepic successfully flirt with the line that divides truly great songs and commercial success to reveal themselves as a band that can deliver on both fronts. The band have played Woodstock 8, Doorstock, Oppikoppi and supported Seether and The Parlotones on tours. 2006 saw the band take on their debut international tour in Germany including a performance at Berlins reknowned music industry event Popkomm
Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Mars Volta, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse, Myepic’s sound marries hard rock’s sonic intensity with the melodic accessibility of pop rock.
Myepic released their debut full-length album ’The Love Industry’ in 2006 on Murdercall Records last year to critical acclaim. They signed a full label deal mid 2007 with South African indie giant Sheer Sound and have recently completed recording their new EP "Happiness Hurts" with legendary engineer/producer Neal Snyman (Nude Girls) due for release in March 2008 which will again see them hit the road for touring and promotional stints and building on their growing fanbase.
Some Recent Reviews:
"...world-class rock music that South Africans can truly be proud of." - Gordon Laws, FHM, Mar 2008
"MYEPIC is what brought Steve Stevens to Woodstock in the first place ... this gig was unbelievable. The power and the energy behind it were addictive and it all just seemed to end too soon ... for such a new band they really have a very distinct sound. See you at their next gig in the front row." - Steve Stevens, Mio.co.za
"Isn’t it always such a trip to chance upon a band and be totally impressed with them and then find out that lo and behold - they are local!? ... it’s clear that they have defined their own sound and are quite comfortable to revel in it ... Do yourself a favour and check them out, either live or on shiny disc" - Jon Monsoon, Jhblive.co.za
